Having my support at your birth begins with making sure we connect well and will develop a great friendship throughout our time together. I always offer a free consultation appointment to help you with deciding if my care aligns with what you are looking for. If you feel confident about moving forward, you will get the following perks.
Included in this cost is:
-2 Prenatal Visits: The first visit will be dedicated to creating a birth plan. This is a great time to sort out any details you may be unsure about or need more information on. The second visit will be full of childbirth, postpartum, and breastfeeding education. We can also discuss baby-wearing and cloth diapering if this is something that interests you. My favorite part of these visits is the relationship that we will build through getting to know one another!
-Lending Library of pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and breastfeeding books
-Virtual support through text, calls, and Facetime/google meets
-Birth Support: This will begin with virtual support deciding what stage of labor you are in, what information your contractions are giving us, recommendations, and emotional support. This will lead to physical support in person. I remain with you until you are 1-2 hours postpartum. (See below for more details!)
-Breastfeeding Support (See below for more details!)
-1 Postpartum Visit: I always love checking in with you after the birth to make sure your recovery is going well.
20% of your total cost is due at the time of booking. The rest is due by 36 weeks gestation. Most families choose a payment plan that allows them to pay month to month, but this is not a requirement. Clients who choose to pay the entire fee when booking will receive a $100 discount. Mindful Maternity also offers a 10% discount to military families.
If you are ready to move forward and would like to fill out some information for me, you are welcome to do this at anytime!
Birth has many emotions attached to it no matter how you choose to give birth. I'm here to offer comfort and encouragement to you throughout the ups and downs.
Counter Pressure has been shown to be relieving of the intensity of labor, but also helpful to the labor process when done correctly and during the right moments.
If back labor strikes, a Tens Unit can help tremendously! The intensity is controlled by you and has a button to boost the strength if your contraction is stronger than you anticipated. (Tens Unit can not be used in water or with an epidural. Some forms of fetal monitoring are also affected by Tens Unit machines.)
If you are unsure about anything during labor or need help making certain decisions, I can help by offering the education necessary to feel confident during your labor and birth.
I am always there for both you and your partner or other support team members. Most partners find it reassuring to have unbiased educational support in the room for them to ask questions to and also someone to help reassure them as well. I'm happy to support more than just you as the mother.
I bring a bag full of lots of tools that are useful during labor and birth! It includes essential oils, a heating pad, a battery powered fan, tennis balls for counter pressure, honey sticks, and more!
Please reach us at kristen@mindfulmaternitybirthing.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Absolutely not. When it comes to supporting your birth, I do not restrict how many hours I will stay with you. I do typically wait to arrive to your birth until you are actively laboring though. This is to allow you all the time you need in early labor to rest before being mentally involved in the birthing process. This is for your benefit and something I discuss with each mom prenatally. In the case of very long births, there may be a need to step out and eat or nap for me to be able to provide my best support to you. These are things we discuss in the moment if the time is right!
Our two prenatal visits will happen in-office (Yellow Springs). I do these on the first Saturday of the month. We will do them the two months leading up to your due date. (EX: If you are due in January, we will have our Birth Preference meeting on the first Saturday of November, and our Birth Education meeting will be on the first Saturday of December, For postpartum, I come to your home! I believe in the 5-5-5 rule of postpartum healing and will not ask you to leave your home to visit me. Pospartum visits are done on the Second and Fourth Mondays of the month.
If this looks different to you, this is because this is a new model of care that I have introduced in 2024 to help balance and prioritize my life at home with my family.
As soon as possible! I can only take 2-3 clients per month and it is first come, first serve. Just because our visits do not start until the third trimester, this does not mean there isn't support to give throughout all of pregnancy! I check in with you periodically to see how you're doing, recommend resources and education, and am working to build a great relationship with you.
Once your invoice is paid in full, I can provide a detailed invoice for you to submit to attempt reimbursement, but I cannot bill insurance or accept HSA/FSA directly. For health share accounts, I can provide a detailed invoice once your deposit has been paid.
When it comes to reaching your birth goals, it is really important to know that the work begins long before your actual birth. There is much to learn and do to prepare your body for labor. Very few people could run a marathon without training intensely for months leading up to the event. Labor is similar. My support to you begins with empowering you with knowledge, coping skills, decision making opportunities, nutritional goals, and more! These are all preparing you for the big "event" and are critical in having a birth experience that you feel at peace with! There may be times I ask you to do really hard things, but it is done from a place of love and because I know it will serve you greatly in this experience!
