I’d like to take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Krissy! I became a mom 7 years ago and to be honest with you, I didn’t know much of anything about pregnancy. I began to research and became obsessed with the body’s ability to grow and sustain the life of a baby. The entire process was and still is very fascinating to me.
After my third birth, the third very difficult birth that I endured, I went searching. I knew if I ever gave birth again, my well-being depended on change. I trusted my body to provide life to a child for 9 months, but when it came time to bring the child earth side, I lacked faith in it’s abilities. I decided the best option for me was to sit on my hands and allow my baby to come when he was ready. This birth changed my life immensely. I knew from that point on, I couldn’t rest unless I was supporting other pregnant and birthing mothers in their journey.
I did my training through Childbirth international in early 2021 and was issued a certification from them upon completion. I have since supported over 100 births. I am currently pursuing my dreams of becoming a midwife and I am also working on gaining the necessary support hours to be a certified lactation counselor. I feel personally responsible to always continue learning and refreshing my knowledge surrounding pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
The most important thing about me is that I am a believer in Jesus Christ and live to serve Him and glorify Him with everything that I do. I also love baking homemade bread, spending time barefoot in my veggie garden, and listening to a variety of podcasts. On a typical day during the week you can catch me homeschooling my kids through life experiences and on the weekends we love to play board games with friends and family. I could never get sick of watching The Office and drinking iced mochas.
I hope to have the honor of getting to know you and your family and being welcomed into your birth. Each opportunity I am afforded humbles me and reminds me how grateful I am to be walking this path!
